Barn Wedding Ideas For All Seasons

As you can probably guess, a beautiful barn wedding is our favourite sort of wedding – full of charming character, glowing lights and breath-taking photo ops; we just love them! So it’s no great surprise that Hazel Gap is the fifth wedding barn within the Cripps Barn group that we are so hugely proud and thrilled to be able to share with you.

If you’re dreaming of a relaxed, romantic venue that feels both quite grand and homely all at once, a barn wedding is for you! Our family friendly venue is perfect all year round and can have quite a different feel to it throughout the seasons, which is something we really love.

Whether you’re planning on tying the knot in the bright British summertime, the crisp chill of autumn or the snowy depths of winter, we are always happy to help make your big day as magical as possible.

To help you plan your beautiful barn wedding, whatever the weather, here are our top seasonal inspiration ideas for the most enchanting barn wedding:

Spring Barn Wedding

Springtime is one of the most wonderful times of year to get hitched, with bursts of life and colourful flowers in bloom, cool but bright days and so much inspiration for a stunning barn wedding!

You could opt to embrace the natural flow of things and go for a garden themed wedding, which always looks fabulous in our barns. This of course involves lots of flowers (there are so many lovely flowers popping up everywhere that you could even have handpicked bouquets and centrepieces!) and creative lighting ideas using candles in twine hung jars; shabby chic style rustic garden tools and furniture, such as metal and wooden buckets, vintage jugs and old wooden stepladders to decorate and add character.

Summer Barn Wedding

For a summer barn wedding, you can enjoy a traditional British summer time with quirky games, such as croquet, to keep guests entertained and LOTS of Pimms for everyone!

Another alternative is to bring your destination wedding desires to you – Moroccan themed weddings evoke feelings of hot, exotic nights abroad and works brilliantly with Boho style (read our tips on Moroccan wedding inspiration here), or perhaps go for a midsummer night’s dream theme with plenty of hanging flower canopies, archways and fairy lights for that mystical glow in the evening.

Autumn Barn Wedding

Getting married on a crisp Autumn day is something you’ll never forget. As the days are getting shorter and cooler, you’ll be able to take advantage of our fire pit outside and loads of warming candlelight.

Bring the autumn foliage and bare branches in to work as part of your warm toned colour scheme, matching the deep orange, reds and browns you’re seeing outside.

As the night draws in, you and your guests can enjoy a childhood flashback by playing with sparklers and toasting marshmallows over our fire pit for a tasty after dinner treat!

Winter Barn Wedding

There is always something truly magical about a winter wedding. As everyone gets into the Christmas spirit, you could say that there’s no better time of year for festivities!

Go all out with a winter wonderland theme for your winter barn wedding, with gold and snow white branches wrapped in fairylights, hanging crystal and star decorations like a sparkling frost in the air and bursts of red and green foliage.

Keep everyone warm and fuzzy inside with mulled wine and hot cider going round and a British Feast to fill your tums.

If you’re worried about being cold, don’t be! With our well insulated barns, heating and fires you’ll be very comfortable in your own private winter wonderland.
