4 AMAZING bridal hairstyles to wear with a veil

So you’ve decided to wear a veil for your big day, but how do you select a hairstyle that will look great alongside it?

There are so many gorgeous dos to choose from, but it can be tough to figure out which will look best and sometimes you may find that the style you had originally set your heart on just doesn’t have that wow factor when teamed with your veil so it is always important to have a practice to get it just right! When going for your trial run with your hairstylist, make sure you bring your veil with you so that you can have a play around and figure out what works best for you.

3 points to remember:

  • Consider that you might want to remove the veil after the ceremony, so work out a fab style that looks great with and without
  • Take into account the length of your veil and plan accordingly – this will make a big difference as to which style you end up choosing
  • Trust your stylist! Be sure to tell them what’s on your wishlist but always be willing to compromise a little bit – leave it to the professionals to come up with your best look.

A chignon, whether you opt for messy or sleek, always looks so elegant with a veil. This stunning hip length veil by Percy Handmade comes embellished with silk flowers and beads and so the subtly of this girlish charm filled style looks utterly fairytale.

This beautiful take on a birdcage veil from Sibodesigns is almost an essential for a retro themed wedding to set off the look just right. This one is styled beautifully with side swept, tumbling curls making the whole ensemble perfectly balanced.

One of my absolute favourite ways to wear a waist length veil like this one from Hair Comes The Bride – just wear your hair loose! So romantic and oozing femininity whilst still retaining a relaxed aura. Also an excellent way to make the most of a full fringe!

The high bun – a hugely popular choice for the fashion conscious bride as it is, this well structured style is ideal for a long veil (this one is by Richard Designs) worn with a strapless dress to really emphasize a swan-like neck and defined collar bone. Not only does this bun look amazing, but it’s also very good at staying put all day and night, meaning perfect hair for the photos!
